Description:Klickitat Valley Health is accepting applications for a Full-time IT Technician I to join the IT Department.

This position offers 40 hours per week, M-F (8:30am - 4:30) and is eligible for the full-time benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, Rx, Long and Short Term Disability, Life Insurance, generous Paid Time Off and Retirement contribution.

The IT Technician I maintains and supports computer technology for the hospital, including managing the IT department “help desk” aspect of KVHealth IT service, as well as the implementation and maintenance of computer systems and network applications. The IT Technician performs a variety of technical support activities, including but not limited to: installing employee computer work stations, routine preventative maintenance for PC’s and printers, maintaining employee computer security access, providing help desk support, troubleshooting basic equipment and system problems/failures, maintaining IT databases for tracking equipment assets and file access, back-up/store/test the hospital IT systems, etc. The IT Technician demonstrates excellence in customer service during interactions with employees, managers/supervisors, vendors, etc. and works collaboratively with colleagues and departments throughout the organization to provide optimal computer/IT services in a professional, ethical and knowledgeable fashion. Maintains a safe, clean and organized work environment.
Duties:• Configures, installs and updates employee workstations (software & hardware).
• Performs routine preventative maintenance on hospital hardware, including PC’s and printers.
• Establishes and terminates employee security access in applicable systems (CPSI, G-Mail, and KVHealth file server, etc).
• Provides basic computer trouble shooting and maintenance as assigned or when needed.
• Provides phone/help-desk support for employees as appropriate for the employee’s access level/authority; and provides general computer support for both employees and departments as needed or as directed by the IT Manager.
• Troubleshoots basic printer, fax machine, copier issues, as well as communicating service issues to contract vendors.
• Backs-up, tests and stores CPSI data daily.
• Maintains IT databases to ensure appropriate tracking of equipment assets and file access on hospital computer systems.
• Documents education, feedback, demonstrations, work order service involvements, etc. and records information in a clear, concise, complete and timely manner.
• Attends departmental and hospital required meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:Minimum Education, Training & Experience (includes licenses or certifications):

• High school diploma or GED required.
• General knowledge of computer technology, both hardware and software systems.
• Proficient knowledge in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite software.

• Minimum one (1) years general computer/IT experience preferred.
• Minimum one (1) year experience in IT help desk experience preferred.
• Experience with troubleshooting both PC and printers preferred.

• Requires critical thinking skills, ability to make good decisions, listen and accept advice from others, demonstrate maturity and good judgement and the ability to work with regular supervision.
• Promote/deliver excellent customer service to both internal (employees and management) and external customers (vendors and other third parties).
• Perform various sensory requirements such as: vision, touch, manual dexterity, fine motor skills, etc to perform tasks using computers, computer screens, key boards, printers, copiers, faxes, and other office equipment.
• Demonstrate positive and effective interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, vendors, visitors, etc.
• Maintain a calm and composed manner in emergency/stressful situations, taking appropriate action as necessary.
• Demonstrates attention to detail, follows oral and written instruction precisely, and maintains a high degree of accuracy, risk of error could result in significant monetary loss and hardship for KVH.
• Excellent organizational and multi-tasking and time management skills with ability to anticipate tasks and prioritize assignments.
• Work in a stressful/demanding environment and take appropriate action to ensure accurate and high quality of work produced, ability to cope with both physical and emotional demands of the job.
• Experience with using everyday computer electronic technology tools (e.g., email, spreadsheets, word processing, voicemail, internet/intranet) and organize and store work-related data, plus using printers, copiers, fax, etc.; and perform minor equipment maintenance, such as: network card installations, changing out hard drives, installing computer RAM cards/chips, etc.
• Proficiency with Microsoft (MS) Office Suite programs including: Excel, Acces, Power Point and Word are essential, plus skill with other software applications like Acrobat Reader.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills desirable.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
