Description:Klickitat Valley Health, located in Goldendale, WA, is now accepting applications for a Full-time Clinical Informatics RN.

This position offers 40 hours per week, M-F, day shift, and is eligible for the full-time benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, Rx, Long and Short Term Disability, Life Insurance, generous Paid Time Off and Retirement contribution.

Under general supervision, the Clinical Informatics RN has an in-depth knowledge of working with Electronic Medical Record systems that are used to coordinate provider and patient data. Clinical Informatics RN is responsible for the day-to-day operation, trouble-shooting and training of staff, and serves as the liaison between Acute Care, Family Medicine, IT and hospital ancillary departments, including medical staff. Additionally, the Clinical Informatics RN works with 3rd parties
Duties:• Coordinates education for all clinical and practices end users, including physicians, for new software and updates in the EMR.
• Looks for trends in user errors through personal availability and time spent with the end user
• Uses information obtained to identify areas for training or retraining
• Selects, trains and mentors “super users” for EMR and practice management resources is required.
• Assists with staff education when needed to promote acceptance and understanding of new clinical projects
• Plans and implements in-house marketing techniques to promote new projects or changes relating to practice management and ancillary information systems.
• Assists Family Medicine, clinical ancillary departments and physicians with downtime preparation and recovery.
• Identifies and resolves issues with workflow and processes relating to EMR’s.
• Communicates with system end users and other IT team members to identify and develop cost-effective and efficient solutions to issues relating to the EMR systems.
• Creates and maintains physician order sets and other standard templates within the EMR system
• Maintains a working knowledge of eScribe and pharmacy modules as they impact the EMR system
• Ability to keep abreast of emerging technologies and software in the Healthcare Information Systems industry
• Will work with eligible providers to meet meaningful use stage requirements
• Capable of evaluating new technologies as appropriate
• Makes every effort to ensure accuracy of data in the EMR and protect the confidentiality of the patient’s healthcare information PHI.
• Cross-trained to assist with hospital EMR when needed
• Opens and closes support tickets with Greenway and CPSI as needed to resolve system errors.
• Assists with implementation, testing and troubleshooting of interfaces.
• Is able and available to fill in for nurses on breaks and lunch shifts to keep up to date on EMR documentation and workflows.
Qualifications:Minimum Education, Training & Experience (includes licenses or certifications):

Education:
• Graduate of accredited school of nursing with current license to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Washington.
• Continuing education and/or specialized training in computer applications, operations and information systems to support understanding of software functions and system integration.

Experience:
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience with evidence of strength in areas of leadership, creativity, flexibility, self-direction, organization, problem-solving, communication, and multi-tasking
• Experience with medical chart auditing
• Experience teaching others with a variety of learning and retention styles
• Document management skills to support teaching, record keeping and communication
• Two years experience teaching clinical computer modules in a healthcare setting is preferred

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
• Working knowledge of computer and Electronic Medical Records
• Ability to work in a team environment with coaching and performance evaluation given by all team members.
• Flexible, adaptable, able to quickly learn and gain knowledge, particularly in the subject matter areas of nursing and I.T.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Superior organizational ability.
• Ability to exercise independent decision-making.
• Ability to exercise discretion in confidential matters.
