Description:Klickitat Valley Health is a small, critical-access hospital located in Goldendale, Washington which is approximately two hours east of Portland in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge.

We are now in search of an Acute Care Manger to work with the Director of Nursing Service (DNS). This position will assist in the general overall management of the nursing departments which include Med/Surg, ER, Rehab and Extended Swing Bed, and Surgery. The manager supports the day to day delivery of safe, quality patient care, coordination of interdepartmental services, patient placement, clinical staffing assignments and information flow within the nursing department.


Duties:Planning and coordination of patient care services with patients and other members of the healthcare team; participates in achieving organization mission & goals, maintaining a positive work and growth environment; maintaining effective process improvement to meet patient & customer expectations; budget management/compliance; nursing administration objectives inclusive of: nursing policy & practice, clinical education of staff, survey readiness/governmental compliance; strategic management inclusive of: departmental goals & objectives, quality measurement outcome achievement, service delivery modification/change; personnel management inclusive of: establishing/managing staffing schedules, daily staffing adjustments, selection/hiring of staff, staff performance appraisals, coaching/training/disciplining staff; communication effectiveness to achieve management objectives and resolve either patient care or operational concerns; may be required to fill a staff role on an as needed basis when required or other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:Current Washington State RN license; graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a BSN required/MSN preferred; BLS,ACLS,PALS required; 2 years nursing management experience and 3 years minimum acute care staff nurse experience required; knowledge of general hospital management including: budget development/administration, policy administration, strategic goal setting, staff evaluation/management, quality care evaluation/management, hospital accreditation/compliance, knowledge of nursing theory/techniques/principles/practices; critical thinking & analytical skills; good decision making skills; self-directed/demonstrated initiative ability; positive/effective interpersonal and communication skills; ability to handle stress and maintain a calm/composed manner in emergency/stressful situations; attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy; strong customer service orientation/delivery; great team work productivity & positive conflict management ability; excellent computer/electronic medical record ability.
